Reliable Italian news outlet Formu1a.uno first reported the development this morning reporting serious negotiations between Hamilton and Ferrari.
The report stated that Ferrari president John Elkann and Hamilton have been in close conversation over the move taking place.
Since this report, Sky Sports have confirmed the situation stating that negotiations are in the advanced stage and now several sources are revealing that the deal has now been signed.
BBC Sport have also learnt that a meeting between all Mercedes team members led by Toto Wolff and James Allison will take place this afternoon at 14:00 GMT.
Hamilton signed a 1 year with an option for a further extension when re-signing with the team he has been with for since 2013.
However, as seen, it seems as if Hamilton is set to end a long relationship with team to join the famous Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz has reported interest from Red Bull, Aston Martin and Audi as per several reports but there is reliable interest shared as of yet.
There is also no discussion of Hamilton's replacement as things stand with the obvious options of Mick Schumacher and Frederik Vesti the only clear options at the moment.
