Vasseur's Dream Team

After announcing Lewis Hamilton to the Ferrari team for the 2025 season, team boss Fredric Vasseur seems to be building his dream team, which he will be hoping will bring the team back to the top of Formula 1.

In February this year, Ferrari made the shock announcement that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton would be joining the Marenello-based team from Mercedes, where he has won six of his titles and eight constructors championships.

Ferrari also has starboy Charles Leclerc in their arsenal, and in recent days, they signed Mercedes duo Loic Serra and Jerome d'Ambrosio to further strengthen the team, which will be familiar faces to Hamilton.

It is also well known that technical genius Adrian Newey, who is now a free man after his Red Bull departure was announced over the Miami weekend, has been heavily rumoured to make the move to Ferrari.

Should Newey make the move to Ferrari, this combination of people built up by Vasseur can't be far from his idea of a dream team. Vasseur has previously worked with Hamilton in his ART days in GP2, so his previous relationship with the Brit should help him get settled in.

Although some are already questioning Vasseur's decision to drop Sainz, especially after his win this year, as well as beating Leclerc on most occasions this season, if it weren't for him missing Saudi Arabia earlier in the year, it is certain he would be closer, if not ahead of Leclerc, in the drivers championship.

Countering this, Leclerc has always been Ferrari's 'starboy', so replacing him surely was never an option for the Scuderia. With his two dream drivers sorted, Vasseur has set about signing other personnel to help Ferrari return to the top of Formula 1.

Ferrari is bringing their first major upgrades of the season, and they think these will allow them to challenge Red Bull. After Norris' first triumph at the last race in Miami, could Ferrari stop Red Bull and Max Verstappen for a second successive weekend for the first time since 2022?
