Williams appeared to have had a strong package at the start of last year, but this year it seems the team is moving backwards again, and the main reason has been revealed.

Williams are currently pointless after the first six races, only one of two teams to find themselves in this position, with the other being Kick Sauber, and have had a tough start to the season.
The early issue this season was the lack of spare parts the team had at the start of the year. This became apparent at the Australian Grand Prix when Logan Sargeant was forced to sit on the sidelines as teammate Alex Albon used his chassis after the Thai driver found the wall in practice.
The team's best result this season was at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where, if it weren't for Kevin Magnussen's controversial tactics, the team would likely have scored their first points of the season.

According to Autosport, the team has been losing just over four tenths of a lap due to being overweight in the first six races. The team was hoping lighter parts at Imola would fix this, but not much difference was visibly seen.
Williams still has a seat up for grabs next season, and current driver Logan Sargeant could argue that the car's lack of pace isn’t allowing him to show his full potential this season. Valtteri Bottas and Carlos Sainz are two of the favourites to replace the American at Williams.
With the Monaco Grand Prix up next, the Williams team will be hoping for improvements as they hope to move back up the very competitive midfield.
